Rep. Elissa Campbell files resolution for Wyoming abortion amendment

CASPER, Wyo. — House District 56 State Rep. Elissa Campbell, R-Natrona County, filed a joint resolution Thursday to let Wyoming voters decide whether to prohibit abortion through a constitutional amendment.

The proposal follows a Jan. 6 ruling by the Wyoming Supreme Court that struck down two 2023 abortion laws. The court found that the Life Is a Human Right Act and a ban on chemical abortion medications violated the state constitution’s protections for an adult’s healthcare decisions.
