We are proud to share that Julie Burkhart has been recognized by TIME in both the TIME100 Health and the TIME100 Most Influential People of 2025 lists, honoring her decades of leadership in advancing reproductive freedom. These prestigious distinctions highlight her resilience and unwavering commitment to ensuring patients can access compassionate, high-quality care, no matter where they live.
Julie’s work in Wyoming exemplifies that commitment. Despite an arson attack in 2022 that delayed the opening of Wellspring Health Access—the state’s only full-service abortion clinic—she and her team rebuilt and opened the clinic in 2023. The following year, Wellspring won a landmark legal victory when a judge declared Wyoming’s near-total abortion ban unconstitutional. While new restrictions temporarily forced the clinic to pause abortion services, it remains open, supporting patients and continuing its legal fight.
Her dedication has never come without challenges. Julie has faced arson, death threats, and political obstacles while opening clinics in Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Today, she also serves as co-owner of Hope Clinic in Illinois, which has seen a 700% increase in out-of-state patients since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Julie’s recognition by TIME is a powerful testament to her leadership and her determination to ensure abortion care remains accessible for all.
